PRACTICAL HELPS FOR SCRIPTURE READING (& STUDY) IN 2025 | WEEK 1

As we begin a new year of reading in our Bibles on a daily

basis, and maybe even through the entire Bible in a year

(with a reading program such as Word and Witness), let’s

take a few weeks at the beginning to review some of the

basic disciplines that will make our reading more

productive and more enjoyable. These will be just simple

techniques, skills, and practices that we have heard about

and maybe even already use on a daily basis, but it never

hurts to review the “tools in our belt,” …and make sure they

are sharp and focused? Like… Prayer before, during, and

after…. Treasuring God’s revealed Word. Desiring to know

the True Author. Meditation. Application. Defeating

temptation. Dealing with the “flesh.”
